Research and Analysis
Initial marketing research and analysis

Before we conduct any optimisation or online marketing activities for you we need to fully understand what you offer, who your online audience is, how are they looking for your product or service online and what are your competitors up to. We compile this information into reports which are used as the basis for optimisation and online marketing services that we conduct for you.

Keyword research

This is the single most important task that should be completed before any optimisation or online marketing is done and will form the foundation of your website presence online. A good understanding of what your “keyword universe” is will ensure that your website is on topic, is found by its target audience and generates a good return on investment.

Our keyword research will tell you:

  • what keywords are the most relevant to your website and are most likely to generate the highest return on your investment;
  • which keywords are the most popular and are searched on the most often and;
  • which keywords have the most websites competing for a particular keyword.

This critical information is used for all ongoing marketing efforts, from writing keyword specific copy and optimising your website, to purchasing pay per click advertising, wording your incoming links correctly and buying advertising on websites that will send you the right type of traffic.

We break down your keyword universe into two important areas from the hundreds of keywords we analyse.

Primary keywords – those most directly related to your website which have the potential to generate the most traffic with the highest ROI . This is where the majority of your focus should be. Your primary keyword list is focused and usually quite small – a handful of keywords in various combinations is common.

Secondary keywords – those keywords which might have lower traffic levels or higher levels of competition that are still relevant to your website and important to target.
